Day 23 after quitting vapingThe other number

In shortThe app's second number is milligrams of nicotine not consumed, worked out from the volume and strength of liquid you entered. A 2 ml disposable at 20 mg/ml holds 40 mg. It cannot be converted into cigarettes. Both figures are honest estimates, not a lab result.

What's happening in your body

Beside the money on your home screen is a figure in milligrams of nicotine not consumed. It is arithmetic from what you entered, the volume of liquid times its strength. A two millilitre disposable at twenty milligrams per millilitre, the legal ceiling in the EU and UK, holds forty milligrams. For scale, the body absorbs roughly one to one and a half milligrams from a cigarette.

The two are not convertible, because how much a person absorbs from a vape depends on the device and on how they puff. The milligram figure stands on its own.

What to expect

The money figure may look modest next to a smoker's, since a vape is cheaper than a pack habit. The nicotine figure is usually the larger story on this track. Both are estimates built from the numbers you gave at the start, priced and measured at today's values. They are honest arithmetic, not a lab result.

Try this

Move the money shown today somewhere it can be seen, a separate account or an envelope, and give it a name.

What else you could do

A sum with a purpose is harder to spend on a device. Set a weekly transfer for what a week of vaping used to cost. Then look at the devices count too. If money is tight and it goes on bills instead, that counts. The point is to see where it went.
