Day 7 after quitting vapingPast the edge of the lab

In shortYou have now gone further than the participants in the vaping studies, which ran for six days and showed symptoms already falling. From here the evidence comes mostly from smokers, where most symptoms fade over the next two to three weeks.

What's happening in your body

The studies that tracked vaping withdrawal day by day ran for six days. As of this morning you have gone further than their participants were asked to go. By the end of those six days symptoms were already on the falling side of the curve. From here the evidence about what you feel comes mostly from nicotine research in smokers, where most symptoms keep fading over the next two to three weeks. The texts will say which is which.

What to expect

Fewer cravings than on day three, and more of them tied to particular moments, which makes them easier to see coming. Some people also start to notice small differences around now, a throat that feels less dry, food that tastes of more, evenings with fewer interruptions. Nobody has measured these in vapers, so treat them as things to watch for rather than promises.

Try this

Open the Diary, scroll back through the week, pick the situation that shows up most, and decide now what you will do in it next time.

What else you could do

Look at which triggers are named beside your cravings and at what time of day they cluster. Nobody else has this data. For the first few weeks, where you can, stay away from the situations that pull hardest. And tell someone you have made it through the first week.
